Feeling love

“You fall in love too easily”
“You wear your heart on your sleeve”
“At a drop of a hat”
That’s what I’ve been told

I fall a little in love with that photographer who captures his depression in images
I fall a little in love with the painter who paints only the most colourful happy canvases
I fall a little in love with the cartoonists whose cartoons depict healing
I fall a little in love with the blogger who blogs about far-away places from his office desk

I fall a little in love with the friend who writes me long letters
I fall a little in love with the old man in the 16-year-old poet’s body
I fall a little in love with the lady at the cloak room with genuine smiles
I fall a little in love with the character on screen who does not win the girl

I fall a little in love with the gyros making guy who loves the gym
I fall a little in love with the pizza guy who tries really hard to control his sarcasm but fails
I fall a little in love with the singer at the square who plays The lemon tree
I fall a little in love with the couple who can’t stop holding each other at the train station

I fall a little in love with the doggie in someone’s arms on an escalator
I fall a little in love with the baby plopped on a lap held with tattooed hands
I fall a little in love with those tattooed hands that hide old scars
I fall a little in love with the receptionist who smiles at me on my way to my empty room

I fall a little in love with the fighter peace lily in my room
I fall a little in love with the colleague who brings me chocolates just because
I fall a little in love with the fat guy statue because he makes people's memories
I fall a little in love with  the mute girl on the tram who laughs with abandon

I fall in love once, twice, a thousand times a day
I guess it is true.
I fall in love easily.
How can you not?
